All of the birth blogs I post make me super emotional! For a while, I thought it was just me because I was so emotionally invested in my clients and their families. That was until I started running into random people in public and they would say, "your birth blogs make me cry like a baby!"

So, if you are out there and are one of those people, you might as well grab an entire box of tissue because Maci's story is sure to make you lose it! I finished Maci's edits one night while I was here at the studio working by myself. I would find myself laughing with one image and crying with the next. I am sure if anyone else had been in the building they would have thought I was insane! The day of Maci's birth was one of the most amazing things I have ever been a part of. This birth story is unlike any other.... So stick around for the little surprise at the end.... :)

Maci took her time getting here. She seemed quite happy living in mommy and liked the idea of us waiting around on her. We spent a lot of time waiting on her precious arrival.

Nicole and Dustin are Maci's parent's, and they are precious people. Like many of us, before they became parents they were first Auntie and Uncle to some of the most precious little girls I know. Ella and Emry were unable to be at the hospital for the birth of their new cousin Maci, but they were still able to visit with "Auntie Cole" and the rest of the family through face time!

The day was drawing to an end and we were all so very anxious to see this little one! After a few little scares, it was decided that she would need to be taken by cesarean birth. With the anticipation building in everyone, we knew it wouldn't be too much longer until we met sweet Maci face to face!

Maci Layne was born on 11/26/13 at 10:09 p.m weighing 6lbs and 6oz. She was 19 inches long.

There were quite a few jokes thrown around about whether or not little Maci would have any hair... I want to point out that not only did she have a head full, but that's right... it's RED! We love red heads around here :)

Sweet Maci hung out with mommy and daddy for some alone time and then headed into the nursery for her very first bath and to be changed into a very special outfit. Maci's dad Dustin had a little surprise for Maci's mommy, Nicole... I knew about this surprise for quite some time, and I could hardly stand it when the time had finally arrived. It felt like I held on to this surprise forever! Maci's dad was going to ask Maci's mom to marry him in a super special way.

When Maci was changed into her special clothes, Nicole was not at all expecting her to be in anything but a hospital onesie. Dustin brought her over to her mommy and at first she made a comment about how cute her onesie was....

And then she read what it said. Her reaction was priceless! It was a total surprise!

And just in case you are wondering... She said YES!
